Arrived in NYC this week from Montreal. I feel like the two cities are very different in that one is in America and the other is is France. Plus the crowds are different.
Half Norwegian, half-Italian, and born in the USA, I saw a reference to "Arabs Gone Wild" on NPR's site, and talked to a friend of mine (an Irish Catholic who loved Istanbul and was familiar with Imam Feisal and his wife, Daisy) about going. I was keen to see the show since I wanted to know more about contemporary Arab culture. And I particularly wanted an antidote to what, I believe, is a lot of paranoia about Arabs and other Muslims in NY right now. It was a great evening in which I learned a lot and laughed a lot and was touched by the talent of these comics. So this is to thank you and all the other folks on that stage(including the dancers) for a wonderful, fun-filled, night. Keep it up -maybe peace will break out!
